Project #AdventureHappiness visits Korando

Mmh🤔 have you ever asked yourself “What does happiness mean to you?” and “What makes you happy?”😃

Our team of volunteers, guided by Oliver Fecht, with help of our teachers, have been out and about to find out what makes us all happy, especially the Grade 6 & 7 students at the Madoma Korando Children’s Learning Centre.

The project is dubbed Adventure Happiness and has been seeking to answer these questions, not just here in Kenya, but in many other places around the world.

The two week long project started by “searching for happiness” through team building activities, a short questionnaire and mind-recreation activities.

The next days continued by giving the students time to contemplate two questions about happiness.🤔🙄”What do I need for a happy life?” and “What values do I need for a happy life?”.

The team then faciliated games that connected with those questions and bridged them across mind-body-heart.

After that, the students, Mama Dolfine and our friends from Armstrong took pictures of what they believe makes them happy. It was amazing to see how they enjoyed themselves and what they captured.

The last part was the creation of a beautiful art gallery. The students had unique reasons for being happy, which they elaborated through photos and art. You could feel that those moments meant the whole world to them. The finale happened when we opened the galary to the whole school and their parents.

Everyone was visibly touched and it inspired a lot of deeper reflections and conversations.

Thank you to Oliver and the whole team!
